Privacy policy
Yakty works without an account, and your answers, results and entries are stored encrypted on this phone only. Below is what is stored, what may be sent and where, and how to control it.
In short
We never see your answers, scores, types, check-ins, tags or evening notes — they do not leave the phone unless you share them yourself (a Stories card, an export).
If “Anonymous statistics” is on, Yakty sends de-identified events (which screens were opened, whether a test was started or finished) and crash reports to Google Firebase. There are no ads, and no data is sold.
Who is responsible
Yakty is developed by Kostiantyn Slobodiuk (Ukraine). For any questions about your data, write to [email protected].
What is stored on the phone
Test answers and results; check-ins (mood, energy, sleep, tags including your own); the daily plan and task marks; answers to the evening question; settings — the name to greet you by, your goal, reminder times, theme.
All of it is kept in a database encrypted with SQLCipher (AES-256); the key is protected by the Android Keystore. Android backup is turned off for Yakty, so the data never goes into a cloud backup or moves to a new phone — use export for that.
Yakty also creates a random installation ID so that advice does not repeat day after day. It is not linked to you and is never sent anywhere.
What may be sent
Only while “Anonymous statistics” is on, Yakty sends these events to Google Firebase Analytics: a screen was opened, an onboarding step and the chosen goal, a test was started, finished or abandoned (test id, question number, duration), the Share sheet was opened, a check-in was done (streak day), the plan was viewed, a task was marked (yes/no), “I feel bad” was opened (from which screen), a reminder was opened (morning or evening).
Firebase adds a random app instance ID (not an advertising ID), the phone model, Android and Yakty versions, language and an approximate country derived from the IP address.
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) contain a technical description of the error, the phone model, Android and Yakty versions and a Crashlytics installation ID.
Never sent: answers, scores, percentiles, types, check-ins, tags, texts, your name. Yakty does not collect the advertising ID.
How to turn it off
“Settings → Privacy → Anonymous statistics”. The switch is on by default; turning it off immediately stops both statistics and crash reports. Collection stays off during launch until Yakty has read the switch.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in making the app more stable and easier to use; turning the switch off is your objection to it.
Google as a processor
Firebase is provided by Google LLC; data may be processed on Google servers outside your country, including in the US, under Google’s standard contractual clauses. Analytics events are kept for no longer than 14 months, Crashlytics reports for 90 days. We do not link this data to a specific person and cannot do so.

Permissions and other features
Notifications are used only for your reminders, which the phone creates itself. For the support lines in “I feel bad”, Yakty reads the country from the mobile network or SIM card on the phone — without location permission and without sending it.
The Stories card is drawn on the phone and goes only where you send it. Calling a support line opens the dialer and links open the browser; from there, those services’ own rules apply.
Yakty does not ask for access to contacts, camera, microphone, photos or location.
Your rights and your data
Export: “Settings → Export my data” — everything in one JSON file. The file is not encrypted, so keep it where others cannot read it.
Deletion: “Settings → Delete all data” erases the database, the key and settings, resets the Analytics ID and deletes unsent crash reports. Neither we nor you can restore erased data. Uninstalling the app erases everything too.
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and objection, and the right to complain to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights or to the data protection authority of your country.
Age
Yakty is meant for adults aged 18 and over, which is confirmed at the start. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
The date of the last update is at the top of the page. We will announce significant changes, such as new kinds of data being sent, in the app before they take effect.
